Russell Hatmaker




Russell Owen Hatmaker, 70, of Lake City died Monday, May 6, 1996, in Lake City Health Care Center.

Mr. Hatmaker, who was of Baptist faith, was a retired coal miner and a U.S. Army veteran of World War I I. He was born April 29, 1917, in Anderson County.

He was preceded in death by wife, Geraldine Wilson Hatmaker, and parents, Frank and Parlie Hatmaker.

Survivors are daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Paul Tackett of Clinton, Wanda and Howard Baker of Knoxville, Wilma and Harvey Rutherford of Heiskell and Samantha and Mark Miller of San Antonio, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Russell "Dickie" and Sandra Hatmaker of Lake City; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ina Marlow, of Clinton.

Family received friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, in Cox Funeral Home, Lake City.

Funeral service was 8 p.m. Wednesday in Cox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Walker officiating. Interment is 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in Oak Ridge Memorial Park with military honors presented by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
