Grace Hickman, age 90, of Briceville, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was a lifelong and founding member of Laurel Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Briceville. She enjoyed going to church very much. She also loved flowers and cooking.
Grace was preceded in death by her: husband, Horace Hickman; son, Leonard Eugene (Bo) Hickman; parents, Smiley and Exie McAbee Hayes; sister, Willie Miller; brothers, John, Sterling, Hershel and Kenneth Hayes.
Survivors: daughters, Barbara Hickman Ensign and husband, Dick of Norwalk, OH; Kay Seiber and husband, Henry of Briceville; sons, Tony Hickman and wife, Janet of Vermillion, OH, Ronnie Hayes and wife, Judy of Toledo, OH; sister, Juanita Easler of Caryville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family received friends Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002 from 6-8 pm at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City. Funeral service followed at 8 pm in the chapel with the Rev. Moss Beets and the Rev. Archie Seiber officiating.
Interment was at 11 am Monday, Feb 4, 2002 at Circle Cemetery in Briceville. Grandson served as pallbearers.
