Mildred Ruth Hutson, age 89, of Lake City, in the Oak Grove Community, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2002, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her church and also loved working in her flowers.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Verney Hutson; parents, John and Martha Gaylor Duncan; daughters, Sue Moneymaker, Margie McCoy; granddaughter, Tammy McCoy; sisters, Phyllis Sharp, Lucille Champion, Dorcey Duncan; brothers, Kermit, Bert, and Willard Duncan.
Survivors: daughters, Wilma Harper and husband, Eddie of Portland, TN, Judy Golden and husband Arnold of Lake City; granddaughters she raised, Debbie McCoy Rann of Ringgold, GA; Renee McCoy Hundley of Vienna, VA; grandchildren, Sonja Burton of Portland, TN; Carolyn Moneymaker of Norfolk, VA; Roger Moneymaker of Memphis, TN; Scott Harper of Cookeville, TN; five great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Gross of Knoxville; brothers, Thomas Duncan of Knoxville, Duane Duncan of Dayton, OH; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with funeral service following at 8 pm in the chapel with the Rev. Larry Foust and the Rev. Mark Acres officiating.
Interment is 11 am Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.
