Arthur “Ott” James, 93, of Briceville, died Saturday in Lake City Health Care Center.

The son of Thomas P. and Maggie Moore James, he was born Nov. 17, 1902 in Anderson County. Mr. James was a member of First Baptist Church, Briceville. He worked as custodian for Briceville First Baptist Church for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hubert James, and Spurgon James; and sisters, Marie Ballew, Charlene Walker, Maude Taylor and Louise Brown Purkey.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Mae James of Briceville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Monday in First Baptist Church, Briceville, with the Rev. Rick Teague officiating. Burial was Tuesday in Methodist Cemetery, Briceville.

Cox Funeral Home in lake City was in charge of arrangements.
