Carlene Horton James, 35, died Wednesday at her home on Spring Street in Clinton. She was a native of Lake City.

Mrs. James, a homemaker, was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

She enjoyed operating a CB radio and was known as Lady Butterfly.

Survivors include her husband, Richard James, of Knoxville; a son, Jimmy Rose of Clinton; father and mother, Carl and Geneva Shown of Claxton; brother, James David Shown of Claxton; sisters, Maybelle Roop of Claxton; Linda Hicks of Maryville; Teresa Henderson of Clinton; and Debbie Gordon of Sevierville; and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Hensley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements..
