Frank Key, 84, of Harriman, died Wednesday night at the Johnson Health Care Center in that city. Services were held Saturday morning at Sharp Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garvin Walls officiating. Burial was at Key Cemetery.
Mr. Key was the son of the late Jess Key and Callie Hackworth Key. He had five children who preceded him in death, James, Roger Darrel, Earl Eugene, Steve and Blaine Everett Key; and two sisters, Ethel Buck and Bernice Gunn.
Mr. Key was a lifelong resident of this area. He was born in Anderson County on March 26, 1909.
He retired from Windrock Mining Co., where he was a coal miner for 55 years. Mr. Key was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Nena Vann Key of Harriman; four children, Don Key Sr., and wife, Margaret of Harriman; Ferrell Key and wife, Gail of Harriman, Wanda Price of Knoxville; Sheila Alcorn of Oliver Springs; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
