Mossie Bumgardner Kidwell, 83, of Norris, died Sept. 16 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Kidwell was born march 28, 1909 in Virginia and came to this area with her parents in a covered wagon when she was a small child. She was the daughter of the late Issac and Mary Smith Bumgardner.
Mrs. Kidwell also had lived in Connecticut and Massachusetts. While in the northeast she was employed by hospitals and restaurants.
A member of Hillvale Baptist Church, she enjoyed quilting, flowers and bird watching as pastimes.
A son, Condy Kidwell of Andersonville, died in November of 1989.
Survivors include sons, Roy Kidwell of Lake City; Claude Kidwell of Windsor Locks, CT; daughter-in-law, Millie Kidwell of Nashville; daughter, Alice Fay Dubay of Norris; a brother, Estel Bumgardner and a sister, Mae Hankins, both of Heiskell; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Audrey Carroll of Heiskell.
Services were held Friday night at Martin Clinton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Crowley officiating. Burial was on Saturday at Hillvale Cemetery.
