Flossie Vadeth Lalk, 81, a resident
at Anderson County
Health Care Center, died there on Oct. 20. She had lived at the Center
for about 11
months
Her parents were the late David Nedham and Bell Gibson
Hopson.. Mrs. Lalk was
born May 3, 1911, in Peabody community in Campbell County. She had lived
for approximately 40
years in Moses Lake, Wash., and came to Clinton a little over a year
ago.
A homemaker, she
enjoyed crocheting before becoming ill.
Mrs. Lalk was of the
Baptist faith.
A son,
Carl Montgomery, died in 1975, and a daughter, Janet Fay Koeing, died in
1978. A sister, Ida
Shelton, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter
and son-in-law, Edith A.M.
and Laddy Fisher of Baytown, Texas; four sons and two daughters-in-law,
Robert and Gerri
Montgomery of Dallas, Ga.; John and Mary Rose Montgomery of Clinton;
Alvis J. Montgomery of
Seattle, Wash.; and Jerry R. Montgomery; two brothers, Estel and Henry
Hopson, both of LaFollette;
15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
The funeral was
held Thursday night at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie
Disney officiating. Burial
was Friday at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton.
