Arvel Lane Sr., 74, of Clinton, died Monday, April 22, 1996, in his residences.
Mr. Lane was retired from Evans Construction Company and was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Lillie Clines Lane.
Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Annie Loveday Lane of Clinton; daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and John Smith and Libby and Gary Campbell, all of Clinton; sons, Arvel Lane Jr. and fiancée, Pam Goldberg, of Oak Ridge; James Lane and fiancée, Sharon Brendle, of Lake City and Johnny Lane and wife, Gail Lane, of Clinton; grandsons, Chris, Timmy and Russ Smith of Clinton; granddaughter, Emily Ann Lane of Lake City; great-grandson, Eric Ryan Smith of Clinton; step-grandchildren, Jessica and Bob Koschke of Lake City and Todd and Ben Panter of Oak Ridge; sisters, Rachel Thomas of Sewanee, Clara Cox of Oak Ridge and Joyce Lane of Clinton; brother-in-law, Dayton Loveday of Thorofare, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
Family received friends 7-9 pm Wednesday, April 24 in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home chapel, Clinton.
Funeral service is being conducted 2 pm Thursday, April 25, in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jeff Calloway and Rev. Steve Evans officiating. Pall bearers are sons and grandsons. Honary pallbearers are Evans brothers. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Clinton.
