Clyde Mack, 81, of Clinton Rt. 2, Blowing Springs community, died April 2 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Mack was born Feb. 10, 1911, in LaFollette to the late Dolph and Dora Housley Mack.
He retired in the mid 1970s, but prior to retirement he worked as a self-employed transportation contractor. He also had worked for the City of Norris in the Sanitation and Transportation Department for more than 20 years.
Mr. Mack served in the Army during World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working on guns as hobbies. Mr. Mack was a member of the East Fork Baptist Church in the Wheat community in Oak Ridge.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Clifton Reggie Mack; brothers Theodore Mack and Cleto Mack, and sisters, Leona Richardson, Ella Coward and Opal Gamble.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Madie Miller Mack of Clinton; a daughter, Dorothy Mack of Clinton; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold D. and Jackie Mack of Clinton; grandchildren, Gwendolyn Mack White of Oak Ridge, Regina Mack Oakes of Biloxi, MS, Stacey Mack Allen of Clinton, Clifton Mack of Sevierville and Harold Mack Jr and Eric Mack, both of Clinton; three step-grandchildren, Shannon, Mike and Nichole Williams, all of Clinton; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Jewell Jessee of Jacksboro; Mary Ruth Rector of Dayton, OH; and Oralee Steffey of Wise, VA; and brothers, Floyd R. Mack, Lonas Mack and Lowell Mack, all of Clinton, and Odeva Mack of Kingston.
The funeral was Saturday night in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Reynolds and the Rev. Jimmy Davidson officiating. Burial was Sunday at Bakers Forge Cemetery in Demory.
