John M. Martin Jr., age 76, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at St. Mary’s Hospital after a long illness.
He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and IBEW Local 760 of Knoxville. Mr. Martin was a United States Marine Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from TVA after more than 35 years of service.

Preceded in death by: Parents and four sisters.
Survivors: wife of 53 years, Mary Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Gay and Barbara Martin of Knoxville; son, Gerald Martin of Knoxville; daughters and son-in-laws, Gail and Curtis Fulwilder of Knoxville, Genny and Kevin Blevins of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Gregory Martin, Kristy Jardet and husband Chris of Knoxville, William Monroe Martin of Knoxville, Bailey and Beccah Blevins of Lenoir City; brothers, Troy D. Martin of Clinton, Charles M. Martin of Spokane, WA; sisters, Mary Hensley of Sylvia, NC, Glenna Greene of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Woodhaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Salee and the Rev. Stephen DeFur officiating. Interment will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
