Raymond E. Martin




Raymond E. Martin, age 75, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at his residence.

He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was also a United States Army veteran who served in World War II as a Paratrooper. While in the service he received three Purple Heart Awards.

Preceded in death by wife, Betty Jean Martin; son, Ray Martin; parents, Harrison & Salle Seiver Martin; brothers, Jim, Roy & Floyd Martin; sister, Laura Farmer. Raymond was born September 9, 1925 in Anderson County.

Survivors: daughters; Connie Jean Edens & husband, Bill of Huntsville, AL; Pattie Tirey of Clinton; Pam Webster & husband, Mike of Oliver Springs; son, Timmy Martin & special daughter-in-law, Sherry of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Pat Martin of Clinton; grandchildren, Melissa Mays, Angie McGee, Karin, Allan, Christopher & Michael Martin, Winter & Crystal Tirey, Jessica & Beth Webster; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Mackenzie & Kinley Martin, Jeannie McGee, Kyle & Joseph Tirey; sister, Myrtle Wise of Clinton; brothers, Claude Martin of Clinton, Howard Martin of Knoxville; niece, Edna Farmer of Clinton.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday, July 5, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday at Pleasant View Baptist Church with full military honors being conducted at gravesite by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
