Services for Matthew Walton James Jr., 77, of Lake City Highway, Lake City, were held Oct. 24 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel In Lake City with the Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.

Mr. James died Friday at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a member of the Clinch River Baptist Church and of the Coal Creek Lodge No. 492.

He was a retired TVA engineer.

His parents, Matthew Walton James Sr. and Henrietta Folsum James, his wife, Mavis Elizabeth James, and brothers, Frank, Jim and Henry James, preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph James of Lake City; Ronnie and Brenda James and Darris R. and Becky James of Lake City; grandchildren, Melissa James of Clinton; Darris Walton James, Chadwick James and Ashley James, all of Lake City; great-grandchild, Chelsey James of Lake City and other relatives.
