Duane Landon McCallister, age 65, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born Oct. 2, 1936 in Sod, WV.
He lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL for many years before moving to Anderson County in 1974. He owned his first business, Atlantic Service Station at age 19, and owned businesses most of his life. He had owned and operated Duane’s Truck Service in Clinton since 1974.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Raymond and Melba McCallister; brothers, Denver and Dwight McCallister.
Survivors: wife of 46 years, Marian Clark McCallister of Clinton; sons, Duane L. McCallister Jr., of Lake City, David McCallister of Garland, TX, Dennis McCallister and wife Regina of Straw Plains, Donny McCallister and wife Debbie of Lake City; daughters, Patricia Chase and husband Rex of Clinton, Dana Ambrose and husband Jon of Watkinsville, GA, Melissa Miles and husband Mark of Lake City; brother, Douglas McCallister and wife Leola of Monterey; sisters, Helen Lawson of Clinton, Ruth Campbell and husband Jack; grandsons, James Chase and wife Kim, Duane Chase and wife Melissa, Nathan McCallister, Marcus Miles, Jesse McCallister, Elliot Ambrose, Landon McCallister, Matthew Miles; granddaughters, Tonya Craig and husband Phil, Amy Williams, Stephanie Ambrose, Beth Williams, Leah McCallister; great-grandchildren, Justin and Jordan Craig, Chad and Taylor Chase, Ally Chase.
The family received friends 6-8 pm Friday, April 12, 2002, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral service following at 8 pm in the chapel with the Rev. Tim Russell officiating.
Interment was at 10:30 am Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
