Clarence (Mac) McCaskill Sr., 55, of 113 Gadsontown Road, Claxton, died Tuesday at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born Jan. 18, 1938, in Vaiden, MS, to the late Mims and Sallie Ward McCaskill.
Mr. McCaskill was employed by Fox Oldsmobile in Oak Ridge as a mechanic. He had worked there since he was 18 years old.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Berline Moore McCaskill of Claxton; a son, Clarence M. McCaskill jr. of Knoxville; three daughters, Diana Lynn Dowdell and husband, Larry, of Oak Ridge; Bonnie Sue McCaskill of Knoxville; Cheryl C. McCaskill of Claxton and her fiancé, Mossy Taylor, of Knoxville; five brothers, Percy McCaskill and William McCaskill, both of Greenwood, MS; Paul McCaskill of Detroit; Lt. Col. Thomas C. Griffin of Alexandria, VA; Ronnie J. Griffin of Oak Ridge; seven sisters, Luzine Brownlee of Charleston, MS; Yvonne Mims, Emma McCaskill and Gladys L. Ward, all of Oak Ridge; Eula Mae Flemming of Greenwood; Dorothy R. Sanders of Tutweiler, MS; Nancy McCaskill of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Bryon Ford of Knoxville; Larry jr and Alexis Dowdell of Oak Ridge and Keyara Taylor of Claxton; mother-in-law, Hazel Moore of Claxton; several aunts and uncles including John and Rosa Ghosten of Oak Ridge; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be 2 pm Friday at Weatherford Mortuary Chapel in Oak Ridge with the Rev. J. Ellis McCleary officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends between 1 and 2 pm Friday.
