Samuel Owen McClure, 81, of Oliver Springs died Monday in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley LaFayette McClure and Mary Emma Hendrix McClure, as son, Bobby McClure, and his wife from a previous marriage, Martha McClure.
Mr. McClure retired from Union Carbide in 1978, where he was a truck driver. He had been a resident of this area for 44 years. He was a native of Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Eunivee McClure of Oliver Springs; children and spouses; James Kenneth and Norma McClure of Muscle Shoals, AL, Shirley and James R. Vest of Florence, AL, Marveline and Larry Fisher of Mobile, AL, Douglas Eugene McClure, Tuscumbia, AL, Samuel Roger and Mae McClure of Tuscumbia, Margaret and Edward Graves of Pensacola, FL, Freida McClure of Oliver Springs, Rex McClure of Oliver Springs, Roy and Patty McClure of oak Ridge, Charles and Matilda McClure of Oliver Springs, Mary McClure of Oak Ridge, David McClure of Oak Ridge, Kimberly McClure of Clinton, and John Franklin and Kimberly Kennedy of Oliver Springs; two brothers, Allen and Alvin McClure both of Florence; four sisters, Dessie Trousdale of Rogersville, Audrey Creasy of Florence, Mary Gladney of Green Hill, AL, and Thelma Wright of Florence; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 8:30 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs, with Brother Richard Powlus officiating.
Graveside service will be 11 am Thursday in Anderson Memorial Garden.
Family will receive friends from 6-8:30 pm in the funeral home.
