Johnny Randolph “J.R.” McCulley, age 66, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born Dec. 12, 1934 in Lake City.
He was a member of The Christian Outreach Assembly of God in Oak Ridge. He was a 1974 graduate of UT. He was a United States Navy veteran and United States Air Force veteran. J.R. was a school-teacher in the Anderson County School System for many years and also worked with the Boys Home in Clinton.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Horace Boyd and Thelma Ruth Goodman McCulley; daughter-in-law, Mary Ruth McCulley.
Survivors: Wife, Joyce Seeber McCulley of Clinton; sons, Hurshel Lynn McCulley and wife Darlene of Lake City; John Alan McCulley of Clinton; daughter, Angela McCulley; sisters, Margie Dugger and husband John of Briceville, Thelma Quintana Benjin of Virginia.
His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Heather, Joshua and Joseph McCulley.
The family received friends 6-8 pm Monday, Feb. 12, 2001 in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 8 pm in the chapel with Pastor Archer Corder and the Rev. Dan Shultz officiating. Interment was held noon Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 at Woodhaven Memory Gardens in Claxton.
