Fred Henry “Buddy” McFarland, 51, of Oak Ridge died Sunday in Methodist medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Born April 25, 1943 in Anderson County, he was the son of James Henry and Annie Mae Manuel McFarland.

Mr. McFarland was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was a self-employed sheet rock hanger.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lane McFarland; sons, Rankie McFarland of Oliver Springs and Steve McFarland of Wartburg; sisters, Clara Butler of Oliver Springs and Hazel Cox of Knoxville; mother-in-law, Joyce Lane of Clinton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Joyce Lane of Claxton; and special friends, Luther Byrge, Lynn Whalen, Fred Johnson and Bobby Duncan.

Funeral service was Tuesday in Holley-Gamble Chapel. Burial was in Byrge Cemetery in New River.
