Cenia McGhee, 83, of Lake City, Fraterville community, died Monday in her home. Funeral services were Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Bass, the Rev. Matthew Harness and the Rev. Bill Harness officiating. Burial followed in Laurel Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. McGhee was born June 8, 1910, in Briceville to the late Jerry and Motlanie Lowe Harness.

Her husband, Rufus (Speedy) McGhee, died in 1986. Two daughters, Lucy Brewer and Gladys Hawkins; infant sons, Clarence and Jerry Lowe; seven brothers and two sisters, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. McGhee was a member of Fraterville Baptist Church. She enjoyed birdwatching and growing flowers.

Survivors include a daughter, Azalee Cook of Lake City; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Harness of Lake City.
