Paul P. McGill, 56, formerly of Clinton, died Monday at the Hillcrest North Nursing Home in Knoxville. Mr. McGill’s home was on Bellaire Ave. in Knoxville. He had lived in Knox County for 25 years.
An Anderson County native, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lillie Mae Green McGill. A son, Jimmy Ray McGill, died in 1989, and a brother, Conley McGill, in 1984.
Mr. McGill was a maintenance engineer at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Christopher McGill; four sons, James Edward, Freddie S. and Lawrence Buford McGill, all of Knoxville; Harold Glen McGill of Atlanta; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Doc and Helen McGill of Clinton; and Oscar Clyde and Susan McGill of Flat Rock, MI; a sister, Etta Daugherty of Clinton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bulla and Bill Vickery of Clinton; and Maudie and Kyle Robison of Lincoln Park, MI; three grandchildren, Clint, Brent and Timothy Lee McGill; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at the Martin Clinton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Wilson and the Rev. Terry Stiles officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday.
