Carl McKamey, 76, a resident of Clinton, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Briarcliff Health Care Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr. McKamey was born March 21, 1925, in Lee County, VA.

He has lived in this area since he was 10 years old. He was a member of Batley Baptist Church.

Mr. McKamey was preceded in death by: parents, Fred McKamey and Minnie Freels; brother, Claude McKamey; sister, Virginia Smith.

Survivors: wife, Aileen McKamey of Clinton; sons, Floyd McKamey of Oak Ridge, James Leland McKamey and wife Juanita of Clinton; daughters, Polly Sue Knight and husband Lee Dale of Powell, Peggy Sue Brown and husband Judd of Oak Ridge; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben Freels of Baltimore, Maryland, Raymond England of Clinton.

The family received friends 6-8 pm Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002 at Sharp Funeral Home.

Funeral service was 2 pm Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Seiber and the Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Burial followed at Smith Cemetery of Batley.
