Earl Ray Moody, age 63 of Powell passed away Sunday, April 29, 2001 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Earl was born Aug. 27, 1937 in Knox County.
He was a member of Claxton Church of God where he served as a deacon for 38 years. He was employed with Martin-Marietta in Oak Ridge at the Y-12 Plant. He was also a Untied States Air Force veteran.
Preceded in death by: Son, Calvin Moody; father, J.L. Moody; brothers, James and Jimmy Moody.
Survivors: Wife, Shirley Moore Moody of Clinton; sons, Jeff Moody and wife Sharon of Heiskell; Kevin Moody and wife Tina of Heiskell; Ronnie Moody and wife Sharon of Cohutta, GA; daughter, Lisa Foster and husband Harold of Clinton; mother, Grace Moody of Clinton; grandchildren, Scott, Nathaniel, Chaston, Kellie and Kyra Moody, Nicole and Ryan Foster; brothers, Ralph, Jerry, Gene and Daniel Moody all of Clinton; sisters, Juanita Shelton of Spokane, WA; Sandra Dodson of Louisville, TN; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family received friends 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 8 pm in the chapel with the Rev. David Simmons and the Rev. Harold Condra officiating.
Interment was held 11 am Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Bells Campground Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Cassell and the Rev. Rocky Johnson officiating.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
