Earl Biddle Nall Jr., 70, of Oak Ridge, died April 5 of a heart attack at Methodist Medical Center.
Philip Mabry and Debbie Nall of Clinton are his son and daughter-in-law.
Mr. Mall, a longtime community theatre actor, had been portraying John Hendrix, the “prophet of Oak Ridge,” in a traveling program for Oak Ridge’s 50th Birthday Celebration.
Mr. Nall had lived in Oak Ridge for the past year. He had lived there from 1953 to 1965 and taught at Oak Ridge High School and had been principal of Highland View and Pine Valley Elementary schools before accepting a position in Florida where he was principal at Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda, FL. He later taught in Pasco County Schools. He retired in 1986.
A member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, he enjoyed stamp and coin collecting and wood carving.
He was a graduate of Peabody College and later earned his master’s degree in education there. He served with the Air Force in the Italy campaign and in the European Theater during WW II.
He and his wife, Marjorie, would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 15.
In addition to his wife and Clinton son, Mr. Nall is survived by a daughter and her husband, Marsha and Joe E. Hicks of New Orleans, LA; another son, Earl J. Nall, and his wife, Joyce of Harriman; and four grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
A memorial service was held April 7 at Kern Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Trundle officiating. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Kern UMC.
Weatherford Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
