Mary Lea Nation, 83, of Clinton died Monday, Aug. 20, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Nation was the daughter of the late Alec and Haley Russell.

She was self-employed for many years as a housekeeper and enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and fishing.

She was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, G.M. Phillips of Clinton, Kyle Nation of Clinton and Fred Nation of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Wilma Jean Williams of Norris, Margie Wilder of Oliver Springs and Maudie Miller of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Alfred Russell and Oxie Russell of Caryville; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 am on Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Clinton Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bedford Bullock will be officiating. Burial will be at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 – 9 pm at Clinton Funeral Home.
