Lowell Edward Nelson, 56, of Lake City passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, in his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Jacksboro. Preceded in death by father, Willard Charles Nelson, and brother, James D. “Jimmy” Nelson.

Survivors: mother, Sadie Nyree Massengill Nelson of Lake City; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis Charles Nelson and Pat of Oak Ridge; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Sue Lawson and Trent of Saltillo, TN; sister-in-law, Terri Cannon Nelson of Powell; aunt, Erma Massengill of Lake City; uncle and wife, James and Mildred Massengill of Norris; and several nieces and nephews.

Family received friends 7-9 pm Thursday, Feb. 20, in Cox Funeral Home, Lake City.

Funeral service was 2 pm Friday, Feb. 21, in Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garry Gilliam and Rev. Henry Hensley officiating, interment following in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville,TN 37909.
