Ruby Matthews O'Dell, 89, of 302 East 6th St., Lake City, died July 26 at her home. A relative said she had been ill since she fell and broke her hip several weeks ago.

A native of Anderson County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Holiness church.

Her husband, Edd O'Dell, and two sons, Lyman and Don O'Dell, preceded her in death

Survivors include two daughters, Muriel Sharp of Lake City and Laverne Hembree of McDonough, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Briceville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Edwin Phillips officiating. Burial was in Circle Cemetery. Cox Funeral Home in Lake City was in charge of arrangements.
