James Ike (Buddy) Overbay, 68, of
Hendrickson
Street, Clinton, died Thursday at Methodist Medical Center of Oak
Ridge.
A native of
Campbell County, he was the son of Ben and Mary Pike Overbay
Mr.
Overbay had lived in
Anderson County for 44 years. He worked as a handyman.
He was a
member of the Second
Street Church of God in Oneida.
Survivors include his wife,
Christine Overbay of Clinton; son,
Harold Jene Overbay of San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Margaret Ann
Overbay of Knoxville;
brothers, Bobby Overbay of LaFollette; Fred Overbay of Caryville;
sisters, Josephine Walp of Elk
Valley; Bertie Allen of Caryville; Edna Bunch and Billie Nance of
Jacksboro; Ella WElls of LaFollette;
Sue Allen and Judy Bullock of Jacksboro; and Wilma Lee of Knoxville;
grandchildren, Benika Overbay,
Rebecca Overbay, Christina Overbay, Eric Jason Overbay, Chuckie Taylor
and Tina Taylor; and a
niece and nephew.
Services were held Saturday at Second Street
Church of God with the
Rev. Glen Buttram officiating. Burial was at Buttram Cemetery in Oneida.
Martin Clinton Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
