Mable Davis Owens died Saturday in
Lawrenceburg.
A former Oliver Springs resident, she and her late husband, Raymond L.
Owens, owned and operated
the Owens Store in downtown Oliver Springs for several years until they
retired. They purchased the
sotre formt the Sienknecht family. Mr. Owens died in September jof
1970.
Mrs. Owens was
the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Sarah Emily Sinclair Davis of
Lawrenceburg. After her parents
died, she and a sister, Lura, moved to the Fork Mountain community to
live with their brother-in-law
and sister, Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Reynolds. It was there that she met her
future husband. Lura lived
with the Owenses after the death of her husband, Elmer
Hardin.
There were two other
sisters, the late Margaret and Clarice Davis, and brothers, the late
Omar, Marshall, Haggard, James
and Bryon Daivs.
Mrs. Owens was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist
Church in Oliver
Springs.
Survivors include a sister, Elisbia Bryant of
Lawrenceburg, and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday at North Funeral Home in
Lawrenceburg.
Graveside services were Monday afternoon at Anderson Memorial Gardens
with the Rev. Garvin
Walls officiating. Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of local
arrangements
