Glen O. Patterson, 76, of Norris, formerly of Coalfield, passed away Monday after a brief illness at his home in Norris, where he had lived for the past five years. He had previously lived in Coalfield for 28 years.
Mr. Patterson was the son of the late C. Estil and Corda Patterson. His wife, Vina Patterson, also preceded him in death.
He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Patterson had served in the Army during World War II.
He worked in maintenance for 25 years at the Harriman Hosiery Mill before retiring.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Don and Linda Patterson of Ten Mile; Ron and Rita Patterson of Solway; Connie and David Sweeney of Norris and Ben and Kathy Patterson of Halls; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Rymer of Rockwood and Ruth Brown of Homestead, FL, and a special friend, Hattie Britt.
Funeral services were held Tuesday night in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home. Graveside services were Wednesday at Thornton Cemetery in Coalfield.
