Ruth Logan Raleigh, 85, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday in Oak Ridge Health Care Center.

Born Aug. 31, 1909, in Whitesburg, KY., she was the daughter of Howard and Ada B. Smith Logan. Mrs. Raleigh moved to Oak Ridge in 1948, and entered the health care center in 1993 after she became ill. A homemaker, she enjoyed flowers, writing to friends and family, and antiques. Mrs. Raleigh studied nursing in City Hospital, Louisville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John W. Raleigh; son, John L. Raleigh; sister, Alta B. Logan; and brother, Larry Logan.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Henry D. and Pat Raleigh of Clinton; a sister, Mae Logan of Whitesburg, KY; sister-in-law, Pat Logan of Portsmouth, RI, and five grandchildren.

Funeral service was Saturday in Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Ridge. Burial was in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
