Susan Lynn Higgs Van Hooser, 42, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Cross Street, Clinton, died Feb. 28 in Medical Center Hospital in Huntsville.

She was the daughter of Boyd Higgs of Huntsville, a former alderman in Clinton, and the late Naomi Donges Higgs.

Mrs. Van Hooser was born Oct. 1, 1951, in Oak Ridge. She moved with her family to Huntsville and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1969.

She had been employed with First American Federal in Huntsville and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Huntsville.

Survivors also include a daughter and a son, Christy Lynn Morrison and Jerry Dwight Van Hooser Jr., both of Huntsville; and several other relatives including aunts in Oak Ridge.

Services were March 3 in Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. W. Vernon Luckey Jr. officiating. Burial was in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
