Dora A. VanHuss, 88, of Auburn, Ill., died Friday at her home. She had lived in the Auburn area for the past 46 years.

She was born Jan. 31, 1904, in Lee County, VA. Her parents were the late Mart and Malinda Hounshell VanHuss.

She married John C. VanHuss, Dec. 2, 1922, in Clinton. He died Aug. 30, 1970. A brother, Robert D. VanHuss and a great-grandson, also died earlier.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton, joining in 1935.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna Margaret Violet of Auburn; a brother, William VanHuss of Virden, Ill.; one sister, Annie Hounshell of Clinton; six grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at Berry Funeral Home in Virden with the Rev. Tom Ford officiating. Burial was in Virden Cemetery.
