Harry M. Vann Sr., 86, of Oliver
Springs, died Jan.
24 at the Harriman Hospital. Mr. Vann served three terms as mayor of
Oliver Springs.
For
the past three years, he had lived at the Lifecare Center of Morgan
County.
An Oliver Springs
native, he worked as a barber for 23 years before retiring.
Mr.
Vann was a member of
Beech Park Baptist Church, a charter member of the Oliver Springs Lions
Club, and a member of the
Oliver Springs Omega Lodge, No. 536 F&AM.
His wife, Mamie Randles
Vann, died on Oct.
19, 1991.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and
Cecil Holland of Oliver
Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Harry M. Vann Jr. and Gale Vann of
Harriman; daughters, Jessie
Marrijo of Albuquerque, N.M.; Nola Marie Vann of Michigan; two
granddaughters; four grandsons;
sister-in-law, Johnnie Randles Snyder of Knoxville; brother and
sister-in-law, Rommie and Zella Vann
of Wartburg; eight great-grandchildren, and many other
relatives.
Services were held Monday
night in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kelly
officiating. Burial was on
Tuesday in Oliver Springs Cemetery.
