Odessa “SUG” Vann




Odessa “SUG” Vann, age 66, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Vann was born Nov. 30, 1935, in Anderson County.

She lived in Oliver Springs except for eight years she lived in Ohio. She was employed for 14 years at Smokey Mountain Market of Oliver Springs. She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Vann was preceded in death by: her father, Robert W. Vann; a son, Anthony Ellis Green; and three brothers, The Rev. Freddie Vann, Ralph Vann and Kenneth Vann.

Survivors: mother, Rosie Vann of Oliver Springs; son, William Thomas Green and wife Sandra of Opp, AL; step-daughters, Rhonda Wilson, Kathy Wilson and Diane Wilson, all of Ohio; grandchildren, Teresa Green, Mary Green and Lori Green, all of Ohio, Diane Richburg and Kelly Norris of Alabama; great-grandchildren, Anthony Green, Shelby Potts, Nancy Potts, Schuyler Potts, Andrew Scott, Shawntel Justice, Shawn Justice Jr., Diondre Irish, Diona Irish, Tyler Beckworth, Cameron Richburg, Ashton Green, Breanna Norris and Corey Norris; brothers, Irvin Vann of Oliver Springs, Charles Franklin Vann and wife Martina of Oliver Springs, Robert Vann Jr., and wife Linda of Coalfield; sisters, Gladys Hutson of Kingston, Mildred Seiber of Oliver Springs, Margaret Green and husband Clarence of Oliver Springs, Ida Ruffner and husband Tom of Oliver Springs, Naomi Seiber and husband Jackie of Oliver Springs.

The family received friends 6-8 pm Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral service followed at 8 pm in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Pride and the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating.

Burial and graveside services were 11 am Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Indian Creek Cemetery.
