Maxie Vanover, 77, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday in her home following a long illness.
A Virginia native, Mrs. Vanover had lived in the Oliver Springs area for the past 33 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Batley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Polly Mullins; sisters, Bertha Taylor and Beulah Mullins; and four brothers, Bryan, Merida, Friend and Radford Mullins.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie Vanover of Oliver Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Geneva and Noel Hughes of Clinton, Sheila Kay Webb of Rock Hill, SC, and Deborah Lynn and Richard Brown of Oliver Springs; sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie Howard and Polly Vanover of Winchester, VA, and Coy “Roger” and Loretta Vanover of Oliver Springs; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Friday in Batley Baptist Church with the Rev. Luke Kidwell, the Rev. Howard Robbins and the Rev. Archie Nelson officiating. Burial followed in Batley Baptist Church Cemetery.
