Harvey E. Violet Sr., 82, of Knoxville, died March 20 at his home.

He was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church.

Mr. Violet was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice McFall Violet; and a daughter, Pearl Green.

Survivors include a son, Harvey Edward Violet Jr. of North Carolina; daughters, Charlotte Holtzclaw of Morrow, Ga., and Brenda Kay Bonds of Alcoa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Violet of Clinton; Lloyd Violet of Illinois; sisters, Tennie Violet Rice of Knoxville; Rachel Patterson of Powell; Naomi Schubert of Clinton; and a special friend, Allene Lively of Knoxville.

Funeral services were held March 23 at Rose Broadway Chapel with the Rev. Ted Ingram officiating. Burial was at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
