George Avery Vowell, 64, of
Andersonville Rt. 1, died
Sunday morning in his home. He was a member of the Open Door Assembly of
God Church near
Andersonville.
Mr. Vowell was retired from Rockwell International
Space Division and had
worked for Liberty National Life Insurance Company. He was an Army
veteran of World War I
I.
His sister, Anna Mary Evans, died in 1987.
Survivors
include his wife of 43 years,
Lavenna (Lou) Duncan Vowell of Andersonville; sons and daughters-in-law,
Ronald and Donna Vowell
and Randal and Mary Vowell, all of Andersonville; daughters and
sons-in-law, Rhonda and Gene Beffre
and Robin and Marvin Hoffman, all of Heiskell; grandchildren, Jason
Crawford, Rhonda Vowell, Jessica
Gibson, Jenna Beffre, Avery Vowell, Aaron Vowell, Toby Vowell, Savannah
Vowell, and Ethan
Hoffman; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Audry Vowelll of San
Bernardino, Calif.; Glendene Vowell
of Lakewood, Calif.; sisters, Geraldine Prater of Grants Pass, Oregon;
and Loraine McGhee of Long
Beach, Calif.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Cox Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev.
Don Fox, the Rev. Russ Porcella and the Rev. David Snodderly officiating.
Burail will be at 11 am
Wednesday at Leach Cemetery.
