Funeral services will be held at 8:30 pm Thursday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel for Carl Edward Vowell, 64, of Ridgeview Drive, Clinton. The Rev. Jim McPherson will officiate. Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. The family will receive friends 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday.

Mr. Vowell died Tuesday at his home.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Vowell.

Mr. Vowell worked as a die setter for 11 years for the General Motors Corp. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Vowell; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Carl and Kathy Vowell of Clinton; daughter, Mrs. Clarence E. (Donna) Pearson of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren; a brother, Morris Vowell of Cleveland, and a sister, Louise Hooks of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
