Lou Vina Fox Vowell, 80, of
Lexington, Ky., formerly of
Lake City, died Aug. 21 at Central Baptist Hospital in
Lexington.
Mrs. Vowell was born Aug.
17, 1913, in Hamblen County. She was reared near Morristown.
She
was a member of
Clear Branch Baptist Church and a member of the Medford Family and
Community Education Club,
formerly known as Medford Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Vowell worked
for many years as a
pastry cook in area restaurants.
Her husband, Clyde A. Vowell,
parents, Jasper and Flora
Inman Fox, brothers, Rufus and John Fox; and a sister, Margaret Mae Fox,
preceded her in
death.
Survivors include daughters, Lois Arlene Hale, and husband,
Neil of Lexington, Ky.,
and Wilma Nelson-Novak and husband, Victor of Meriden, Conn.;
grandchildren, Janice L., Kendra D.,
Thomas A., and Daryl E. Hale; Tamra A. Sanchez and husband, Herbert,
James F. Nelson and wife,
Rumiko, Priscilla L. Ouellette and husband, Donald, Belinda L. Nelson;
great-grandchildren, Phillip and
Nicole Sanchez, James F. Jr. and Reia R. Nelson, Douglas and Colleen
Ouellette, Jessica L. and Nevin
R. Hale; sister, Mary S. Foust of Lake City; brother and sister-in-law,
James Willie and Irene fox of
Lake City; sisters-in-law, Mabel Foust and Myrtle Beets of Lake City,
Daphine Bolton of Knoxville;
several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday at Cox
Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Tom Byrge and the Rev. Floyd Powell officiating. Burial was in
St. Paul's Cemetery in
Morristown.
