Lowell Thomas Vowell, 54, of Knoxville died May 11 at Hill Haven Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Vowell resided with his sister, Anna Sue McGrath of Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Vowell and Virgie Gibson Lee, and one brother, Frank Gibson.

Survivors include one daughter, Suvella Vowell of Knoxville; two brothers and sisters-in-law J.C. and Dessie Gibson of Lake City and Bill and Rose Mary Gibson of Jacksboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Bob McGrath of Knoxville; and one sister-in-law, Maggie Gibson of Virginia; one grandson, Ryan Chad Vowell of Knoxville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Friday at Martin's Chapel in Lake City with the Rev. Warner Hawkins and the Rev. Philip Groos officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
