Rufus Voyles, 82, of Oliver
Springs, died Wednesday
in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
The son of Hamilton and
Ann Stove Voyles, he
was born July 8, 1912, in Murphy, N.C. Mr. Voyles was a retired
ironworker. He was previously
employed with Union Carbide Nuclear Division in the Y-12 Plant from Dec.
9, 1952, until March 21,
1963. He worked for the maintenance division with Y-12.
Survivors
include his wife of 61
years, Vernedith Payne Voyles; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy
Jones of Oliver Springs and
Ruth and Cleo Smith of Oak Ridge; a brother, Felex Voyles of Murphy;
eight grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was
Saturday in the chapel
of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating. Burial
was in Anderson Memorial
Garden, Oliver Springs Highway, near Marlow
community.
