Vernedith E. Voyles, age 80, of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Voyles attended Batley Baptist Church in the Batley community of Oliver Springs. She lived with her daughter, Dorothy Jones. Before her illness she enjoyed gardening and she was a fan of all sports and gospel singing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Voyles.

Survivors: daughters, Dorothy Jones of Oliver Springs and Ruth Smith and husband Cleo of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Joan Walton and husband Bruce of Oak Ridge; Ramona Walker of Oliver Springs; Barry Vann and wife Sandy of Miami, OK; Velvet Weaver and husband Dan of Kingston; Velma Liddle and husband David of Mt. Juliet; David Jones and wife Lisa of Oliver Springs; Richard Jones and wife Kay of Lockport, NY; and Brian Keith Jones and wife Raina of Oliver Springs; great-grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Larrisa Walker, Bradley Jones, Cody Liddle and Sarah Vann.

The family received friends 7-9 pm Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 at Oliver Springs Mortuary, 717 Main Street, Oliver Springs.

Funeral was 2 pm Saturday, Sept. 11,1999 at Batley Baptist Church with the Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating. Interment was at Anderson Memorial Gardens following the service.
