Delia Marie Armes Walters, 87, of River Drive, LaFollette, died at LaFollette Medical Center on Dec. 21.
She was born Feb. 22, 1906, in the Leinarts community to the late George and Elizabeth Armes. Mrs. Walters had also lived in the Dutch Valley and Marlow communities of Anderson County.
A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing and quilting in earlier years. She like to read her Bible and to listen to religious programs.
She was saved as young girl at Poplar Creek Baptist Church and was a member of Midway Baptist Church in LaFollette.
Her husband, Jess Walters, and son, the Rev. Harold Walters, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Jolene Mynatt of LaFollette; and Wilene Goodin of Hammond, IN; two brothers, Cecil White of Clinton, and James White of Chattanooga; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Services were at 10 am Friday at Cross Funeral Home in LaFollette with the Rev. John Mynatt and the Rev. Ernest Orick officiating. Burial was at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
