Ross V. Ward, age 65, a resident of Petros, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1997, in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Beecher Ward and Ora Lou Adkisson.

Survivors: children, Rita Dishman of Wartburg, David Ward of Petros, and Rena Williams and husband Bernie of Petros; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Basil Ward of Petros; sisters, Inela Phillips of Oliver Springs, Deloris Redmon of Wartburg, Lula Seiber of Petros and Shelby Trail of Petros; nephew, Darryl Ward of Petros; special friend, Toy Patterson, June Dotson, Alisa Yates and Denny Dotson.

Mr. Ward was born in Petros on May 17, 1932. He lived in this area all of his life. He was a member of the Black Diamond Masonic Lodge N. 625 F. &A.M. and the West Village Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Ward worked at Roane Electric and also as a self-employed truck driver.

Family received friends 6-8 pm Friday, Oct. 31 in Sharp Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held 8 pm Friday, Oct. 31 in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Stewart Sloan officiating.

Burial was 11 am Saturday, Nov. 1, in Petros Cemetery.
