Henry Leon Waters, 68, of Clinton died Sunday in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born June 23, 1925 in Star City, AR, to Henry H. and Alta White Waters. A carpenter by trade, he became a building contractor and later state building inspector. From 1981 to 1992, he was the Anderson County Zoning officer.
Mr. Waters was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, where he served on the administrative board as well as Sunday school superintendent for 10 years. He was a member of the Clinton Alpha Lodge 376 F&AM. He enjoyed golf and baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Daniel Waters; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bryan Warden of Tazewell, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Suzanne Waters and Mitchell and Pamela Waters, all of Clinton; grandson, Christopher Waters; mother, Alta Waters of Star City; sisters, Betty Kellum of Monticello, AR, and Kathleen Watson of Albuquerque, NM; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Wednesday in Holley-Gamble Chapel with Rev. Ed Nelson, Rev. Lee Cate and Rev. Glenn Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens.
Masonic service was conducted Tuesday by the Clinton Alpha Lodge 376 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton.
