Former Clinton resident, Mary Webster Watkins, 94, of Knoxville, died Sunday in Hillcrest West Nursing Home in Knoxville.
Born Sept. 24, 1899 in Clinton, she was the daughter of David and Nathaniel and Martha Adeline Strader Webster. She was a Christian of the Nazarene faith. Mrs. Watkins was a homemaker who loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lillard B. Watkins in 1972; sons, Bernard Watkins and Cecil Watkins; and a daughter, Melba Shaw.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and J. Alvin Robinson and Patricia and Roy Myers, all of Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Carol Watkins of Durham, NC, and Carl and Madge Watkins of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Erma Watkins of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Wednesday in Holley-Gamble Chapel with the Rev. Paul Hillard officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery.
