I sprinkled some bird seed on the back porch and left the door open so that Ms Kitty could look through the tinted storm door and watch the birds. She loved it. .
Lots of birds came. I took some pics with normal light, but the ones that are green are taken using the "night" function. The door, being tinted, distorted the color and focus. These are mostly Vireos and a couple of what I suppose are Fall Warblers. |
A little Wren. There has been at least one family of Wrens here that I know of since the Spring of 1979. They eat mostly insects but the suet treats got their attention and they love the Black Oil Sunflower Seeds.

The first Wren I met here in April of 1979 when I was the only person living within several blocks became quite tame and would sit on the back of a chair across the patio table from me and fuss and twitch her tail at me. She did not know to be afraid of People.

There were Blue Jays, Squirrels, Woodpeckers, Wrens, Vireos, Titmice, Nuthaches, Warblers, Sparrows and all the other birds except the Yellow Winged Blackbirds and Turtle Doves. They did not eat on the porch as they are primarily ground feeders. I didn't have the camera available for many of them. |
