Champion Working Stockdog, Garner's Azraq, just took a minute out from
sheep-tending to stand in front of the field gate for a snapshot.
American Herding Breed Association High in Trial Winner, his first time
in a trial, now a working ranch dog at Herdenhunde
vom Weiher.
International Champion Lionspring's Shobeq, CACIB, TD, BH, WSD III,
a working ranch dog at Herdenhunde
vom Weiher. See working photos of this dog.
Elfi Riesenblut, a working ranch dog at Herdenhunde
vom Weiher.
Khilim vom Weiher, at age 4 months, on an outing with the sheep she has been getting to know since she was three weeks old and moved to the barn to watch them as she grew up.
Khan vom Weiher, chief ball-chaser and retriever, at age 10 weeks. As a sheep dog, he makes a good retriever, too. Still working on decreasing his aggression on the sheep. With some dogs, it takes a lot of patience.
The Old-timers, now gone:
Weicho Pella, multiple High in Trial winner, all-around working dog, and my good right arm for many years.
Umber, my first German Shepherd, worked for four years as a personal protection
dog with me in Africa, then came home and helped me on the ranch.
Of course, she thought she was still a protection dog and continued to
act like one. In addition, she was a great natural herding dog.
Never had a lesson. Here at nine years of age, she loads sheep into
a chute.
There is another of my personal protection dogs from Africa that I do not have a clear working photo of. But I would like to mention Mujib, perhaps the greatest and truest personal friend that I have ever had. Here is a picture made in Cameroon in West Africa not too long before we left.
