Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web. It has been here for twelve years, but that will end this year

It is with sadness that I face Yahoo's closure of Geocities. I just read their announcement:

"Important Announcement: After careful consideration, Yahoo! has decided to close GeoCities later this year. You can continue enjoying your GeoCities service until then — we just wanted you to let you know about the closure as soon as possible. We'll share more details this summer."

I appreciate the twelve years that Geocities was available to share experiences, but economics change and Yahoo must respond to a shrinking user base.

These pages will remain active until Yahoo actually shuts them down. A portion of my database remains on Rootsweb. The database was uploaded on Rootsweb December 2008.
