Toffee Bars

1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans are my favorite)

Cream butter, brown sugar and vanilla.  Stir in the flour.
Then mix in the chocolate chips and nuts.  Pat into
ungreased 9 by 12 inch pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for
15 to 18 minutes.  Cut into bars while warm.  Cool.

This recipe is quick, easy, and delicious.  I first used
it because I wanted to make chocolate chip cookies, but
had no eggs.  These bars were easier than cookies!
